Opening Ceremony3261 For the 2024 Riyadh Season Opening Ceremony, we served as creative director and creative technology lead alongside Possible — choreographing six industrial robots, lasers, pyro, and full-audience PixMob lighting across a live performance with Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott, broadcast on ESPN.
The 2024 Riyadh Season Opening Ceremony was built to open big. A live music show with Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott, broadcast on ESPN — and a technical canvas to match: six industrial robots on rails with laser-mounted end effectors, an automated arch traveling on tracks, PixMob wristband lighting across the full audience, pyro, and a transparent upstage LED wall.
We came in as creative director and creative technology lead alongside longtime collaborators Possible. Six industrial robots on rails with laser-mounted end effectors, choreographed specifically to each artist and each track. An automated arch on tracks. PixMob audience wristbands. Pyro. A transparent upstage LED wall. Every element tuned to every performance — tech and performance as a single choreographed thing.
Working with Possible meant moving fast with trust already established. The ambition was high and the production kept moving around us. And the chance to bring something like that to life with a long-time collaborator is, every time, the point.
